About us

The TREE Center is a social enterprise of Waban, located in southern Maine’s York county, and provides opportunities in Teambuilding, Leadership, Recreation and Environmental Education.  The center’s programs provide experiential learning opportunities for individuals, organizations, businesses and corporations through its certified staff, meeting spaces, accessible trail system and low ropes challenge elements while also creating awareness in the stewardship of the 84-square-mile watershed and ecosystem that includes Bauneg Beg Lake.

The waterfront campus includes a sandy beach, the brand new Experiential Education Center, forest trails, rustic cabins and the Wormwood Banquet and Conference Center.

The TREE Center’s Environmental Education program offers education and guidance to assist individuals of all ages in becoming stewards of their environment, partnering with organizations and local schools for in-depth learning in areas of study such as: watershed and forest ecology, ecosystem, ecosystem dynamics, and flora/fauna identification.

The TREE Center’s Leadership Development program offers a varied and extensive campus that includes a comprehensive trail network complete with low-ropes course elements and initiatives.  Programs are led by ACCT certified instructors that are skilled in leading groups through their projected growth and development.
