TREE Program Descriptions:

“Fishing Basics”Fishing
Learn basic fishing gear, safety, and techniques while testing skills at Bauneg Beg Lake. Fishing license required for anyone 16 years and older.

“Growing into Spring”
Spring is here! Join the TREE Center in discussing spring changes and then go on a scavenger hunt to look for these changes that we see every year.

“Ice Fishing”
Learn basic ice fish gear, safety, and techniques while testing skills at Bauneg Beg Lake. Fishing license required for anyone 16 years and older.

“Kayak Exploration”
Learn basic kayak safety, different strokes and techniques while paddling on Bauneg Beg Lake. This 4-part series allows kayak novices to learn and develop skills as they explore the shoreline and other interesting features around the lake.

TREE Center Environmental Education

“Snowshoe Expedition”
Learn the steps to put on snowshoes and to stay safe and warm during a winter hike/snowshoe trek through trails, forests, and fields.

“Tracking in the Snow”
Come get a basic introduction to local wildlife. Then venture out and snowshoe along the trails to look for signs of winter wildlife. Snack and hot chocolate included.

“Without a Trace: Wildlife Edition”
Learn about the latest technology used to record wildlife behavior while hiking out on the TREE Center trails. We’ll discuss how human trace affects wildlife and how to reduce your human footprint on our environment.

“Watershed Watch”
Have you ever wondered about your local water sources? Kayak with the TREE Center and learn all about watersheds and how they play a pivotal role in our environment.
